Crystal Mountain is a year-round ski and golf destination in Michigan's northwest Lower Peninsula, 30 miles southwest of Traverse City. This 1,500-acre resort offers 45 slopes on a 375-foot vertical, where operate 7 lifts, 2 surface carpets and 1 surface tow. Here one can find a Super Park, half pipe, intermediate ski area in Megan's Way, daily ski races, night skiing and widespread snowmaking on 98 percent of its ski terrain. If you travel with children of 18 and under they can sleep and ski free of charge midweek if you split accommodations with them and the resort offers 4 different kids' programs that are provided here to take care of everyone from the little ones to teens. Crystal Mountain's x-country runs system has been enhanced to 40 plus kilometers and restored to cater a whole new range of thrilling trails for skiers of all skills. Illuminated night runs have been lengthened to 6 kilometers for night skiing. If you are looking for adventure, you may try out your nerves at Screaming Eagle and Glacier Valley with their steeps and exciting slopes. Beginner and intermediate trails through scenic forests, offer greater variety, from gentle to thrilling. The trails are constantly groomed and here one may try out tracks for traditional skiing and lanes for skating. In addition, Crystal Mountain offers great dining facilities, a cafeteria, an indoor pool and fitness center.
