Paoli Peaks' 16 runs are located in the forest with southern Indiana's sturdy oak, walnut, maple, tulip poplar and hickory. While projecting the resort, steps were taken to keep the natural splendor of this area chaste. The scenery from the 45,000 square foot day cottage is awe-inspiring during the dawns and sunsets on either side on a frosty winter day. With 16 runs, 9 lifts and a 300-foot vertical descent, Paoli Peaks caters a range of skiing terrain for all types of skier. Trails differ in length accordingly to their steepness, from 2,400-foot expert steeps to the 3/4-mile beginners' trail. Snowboarders may relish the Jurassic Snow Park with its grand snow heaps up to 50 feet tall, ridges, table tops, rolling mounds, jumps, rails and slides. The place is fitted with about 110 snowmaking towers with fan guns; Paoli Peaks is able to cover all 70 acres of ski area with 12 inches of snow in 24 hours, when the temperatures are in their upper teens. Ski Paoli Peaks is nested off SR 150 at the west edge of Paoli.
