Snowhaven Ski Area, nested in 7 miles from Grangeville, Idaho, offers a marvelous view on Camas Prairie, the Nez Perce National Forest and the Gospel Hump Wilderness. There are two ski lifts that serve more than 40 acres of snow terrain, with trails for beginner and experienced skiers. The resort is family friendly. Here you can take lessons or ski with friends. Qualified instructors and National Ski patrol assure safety and supervised atmosphere for people of all ages. Skiers can try dry powder downhill slopes on skis and snowboards or enjoy the peace and calm of the cross-country trails at Fish Creek Meadows. Special stress is given to the Snowhaven children's program. As well as the usual ski school, there is a Snow Snorker Ski School for the little ones aged from 3 to 6. And skiing is not the only one thing that children are engaged in, as toys, tubes, sleds, books and games are part of the program. If you prefer cross-country skiing, Fish Creek Meadows provides double-tracked trails of 1, 3, 4, 5 and 7 miles. You may relish gorgeous view of the Clearwater Mountains to the south from a hut on the top, which is also accessible by trail from the top of Snowhaven Ski Area two miles north. You can train telemarking on the crowded slopes at the ski area, or try some advanced techniques. You may rent here all the equipment for telemarking as well as take lessons. Neighboring to Fish Creek Meadows you may set off for the snowmobile ride. More than 100 miles of snowmobile trails are preserved by the Sno-Drifters Snowmobile Club of Grangeville. Snowhaven Ski Area is located in 7 miles from Grangeville, which is 72 miles southeast of Lewiston on Highway 95. It is a full-service community, with abundance of lodgings, restaurants and shopping.
