Kelly Canyon Ski Area

Kelly Canyon Ski Resort is nested in the Targhee National Forest near the South Fork of the Snake River and is one of the most marvelous river valleys of Eastern Idaho. This region boasts lots of recreational activities including swimming, hiking, fishing, hunting, boating, snowmobiling and skiing. Kelly Canyon Ski Resort was opened in 1957.

26 trails and 4 lifts operate on the 740 acres of terrains suitable for skiing and a 1,000-foot vertical, Kelly Canyon provides a number of slopes for all skill levels.

You may try to ski on the whole mountain, starting at the difficult trails on the back side, wide runs and available terrain down the front side.

If you prefer to snowboard, you can do it anywhere on the mountain, and all main trails are illuminated for night skiing. You may also visit a new 600-foot tubing park which caters even more for families and groups.

Kelly Canyon is also admired by the beginners. Qualified instructors train all skill levels in private as well as group lessons. Your children may attend classes just for kids. You may also take snowboard lessons, which are offered during the Christmas holidays and weekends in January. Here you may also enjoy such services as rental shop, cafeteria, banquet and private rooms.

The distance from Kelly Canyon to Idaho Falls is only 26 miles. Buses are operating on Saturdays and holidays from areas. As the resort is located in the center of the area, it is easily accessed from Idaho Falls, Rexburg, Rigby and other remote areas.
