Steamboat Springs is nested in northwest Colorado in the Routt National Forest of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. A perfect vacation for everyone is waiting for you. Steamboat's western genuineness can be observed all over the town in the operating cattle ranches that still enclose the place, the natives' laid-back lifestyle and home affability. Steamboat's giant mountain (2,965 acres), caters exciting mogul fields, alluring tree trails, gleaming snow grounds and wide open groomed trails, all spreading from the top of the Continental Divide. Throughout the ski season, Steamboat gets more than 335 inches of snow, becoming some of the greatest powder skiing in the world. The mountain has six peaks, 165 trails cover 2,965 acres where 20 lifts operate with four high-speed quad chairlifts and an 8-passenger gondola, mounting 3,668 vertical feet. Determined to cater the greatest family programs, Steamboat is still improving and expanding the areas for children, while providing inclusive training and day care. The mountain was the first resort to introduce the first Kids Ski Free program in 1982 and keeps on catering it today. The program provides kids aged 12 and under skiing at no cost if a parent buys a five or more day lift ticket. The Steamboat Ski School is regarded as one of the world’s best and has a full variety of programs catering to all ages and skill levels. The PSIA-certified staff of over 400 instructors is still learning the latest, most complicated skiing and training techniques during the season. Beginners are trained to skiing at an outstanding beginners only terrain and lift. If you are an intermediate and advanced skier, you will be catered with an amazing number of programs, bumps, powder and snowboarding clinics including Women's Ski Seminars and the Billy Kidd Performance Center. The region is renowned for its mineral thermal springs, especially the natural location of the Strawberry Park Hot Springs, which is about seven miles out of town. You may also relish thermal springs located downtown at the Steamboat Health and Recreation with three naturally heated pools. The resort accommodation is also rather diverse. You may choose among slope-side hotels and condominiums and a range of town lodging. Plentiful of dining and shopping options are also available at Steamboat Springs. Steamboat Springs is regarded as the home of about 54 Winter Olympic athletes. That is more than any other town in the United States. The resort boasts the unique reputation as a peaceful, welcoming western community. It's a site where everyone feels like home.
