Powderhorn Resort is nestled in western Colorado on the side of the Grand Mesa, which is the world's largest plain-top mountain. The resort offers 510 acres of terrain and a vertical drop of 1,650 feet, with slopes for novice to professionals. The place for miles of cross-country and some of the greatest snowmobiling in the world is top of the Grand Mesa with 360,000 acres. Snowboard enthusiasts will relish Powderhorn. Here you will find 2 terrain parks with abundant rails, a fun-box, hits, tabletops and sections for classes & contests. Throughout the season, snowboard seminars and contests are hosted here. Here you may choose packages and programs for all ski and snowboarding skills. Ski classes for women instructed by women are one of the most frequently attended. The rental shop provides a full range of winter sports equipment, as well as snowshoes. The Children's Learning Center has different special ski programs for little ones (aged from 3 to 7). The children packages usually include group or private classes and dinner options. The resort visitors can relish Powderhorn attractions, such as the Colorado National Monument or the Colorado Wineries in 20 miles away. Powderhorn Resort is nested 35 miles east of Grand Junction, about a 40-minute drive via I-70 east to Exit 49 South on Colorado Highway 65, which is the Grand Mesa Scenic Byway. Powderhorn is 20 miles up the road. You may also get there by train; Amtrak offers daily rail service from Denver and Salt Lake City, Utah, to Grand Junction.
