Arapahoe Basin is nested in the Pacific edge of the Continental Divide and it is one of the highest ski resorts in North America. Due to the elevation, the area sometimes remains open till mid-June and even July and August.
Arapahoe's terrain park boasts the jumps and rails that curve into everything from rainbows to loops. Grand mountains encircle a natural bowl at the Basin, offering a remarkable site for skiing and snowboarding. Arapahoe Basin is popular among skiers who relish the warm, sunny spring days and on occasions, summer skiing. Though there is no lodging at the ski area, you may stay at Keystone, which is 6 miles west, and you may make use of a free bus service to get to the resort. The meeting place for the experienced skiers are the open bowls, which also provide lots of fun, merciful area for those who long for a bit less thrilling adventure. But if the real challenge is what you search for, set off for the Upper East Wall and enjoy marvelous scenery above and vertical slopes below. The mountain caters lots of events for people of all ages and ski skills every season, from telemark school to develop your skills to its annual parking lot picnics and weekend tailgate parties.
