Alyeska Resort is situated 40 minutes south of Anchorage, Alaska. Plenty of lodging and activities are waiting for you here. It is really at the lowest base elevation (250 feet) for any main ski resort in the United States. This growing ski resort covers 1,000 acres of terrain, varying from easy slopes for beginners to a huge amount of expert runs for the experts to enjoy. Alyeska provides 68 trails and an average snowfall of 720 inches. The resort is enclosed by the magnificent mountains of the Chugach Range. If you love cross-country skiing, here you can enjoy 50 km of nordic trails. If you a beginner and want to take some lessons to learn skiing, you may attend the Alyeska Ski School which offers learn-to-ski packages. Or if you prefer to develop your skill you are welcomed to take learn-to-ski-better lessons. Such pleasant activity as night skiing is also available here with about 2,000 vertical feet of lighted runs. You may enjoy a 60-passenger aerial tram and the spectacular view of the Chugach Mountains, Turnagain Arm and Glacier Valley from the summit of Mt. Alyeska, which will open before you. You may be taken from the sole of the mountain to the 2,300-foot level by two cars. Only in 5 minutes you will find yourself in front of the striking north side of Mt. Alyeska to the Glacier Terminal. You may try many other activities here like snow machining, ice-skating, snowboarding, telemarking, skijoring, snowshoeing, glacier and Northern Lights viewing, or flight seeing.
