Kranjska Gora is located at the elevation of 810 m near the northern entry to the Triglav National Park. The resort (1600 inhabitants) was always the favorite place of summer rest, and over last decades it has become a boisterous Alpine skiing center. Men’s Alpine skiing Word Cup competitions are annually held here. The ski zone is located at the elevation of 800-1623 m and has the area of 125 hectares. The total length of slopes is 30 km. There are also special tracks for snowboarders and virgin slopes for those who like extreme conditions. Cross country skiing is also a common sport in Kranjska Gora. The total length of cross-country trails is 40 km. The mountainsides of Vitranc (1631 m) and Ciprnik (1746 m) can be reached by lift. You can enjoy a beautiful view of the Julian Alps from the view points. The most difficult trail is Vitranc 2 (1048 m). The resort’s surroundings are very popular among tourists. They usually go hiking or biking over Pisnica valley to Vrsic pass (1611 m).
