Cerkno ski resort is quite a modern equipped one. It is located where the region of Gorenjska is ending up and where the region of Primorska is beginning, right on the hills of Black Summit, which is about 50 km far from Ljubliana. Its slopes, being about 1300 meters high, are considered to be the homeland of this ski pearl, which is excelling its ideal geographic position by good snow statistics (natural as well as artificial one), by its 70 hectares of well – prepared ski resort, by a convenient access and by other facilities which are provided to the ski enthusiasts as well as to the very beginners. There are snow cannons at the resort, with the help of which one can be sure about the snow being of high quality even if the weather is warm. As for the ski runs, they are of easy and medium category, and they are well connected by a funicular system, which is considered to be ideal for beginners, as well as for families with children. There are several catering trades and children’s corner, equipped with a specially designed playground on top of the ski area. Snowboarding is also allowed all over the ski resort.
There is also a cozy self service restaurant, located on the very top of the mountain. There people can choose from a large variety of various dishes: cold, as well as cooked ones. There is also a place where children can stay on the 1st floor of the restaurant. As for the lodging conditions, there are six apartments, which provide 45 beds, being equipped with all possible necessary accessories to let the visitors spend their vacations unforgettably.
