Tatranska Lomnica resort is located in the High Tatras (890 m). The highest mountain is Lomnicki Stit (2632 m). One can get to its very top by lifts. The main ski center on Lomnicki Stit is Skalnate Pleso at the altitude of 1750 m, one can get there from the village by aerial cableway (from Praha hotel) or by cabin lift (from Morava hotel). There are short downhill trails for beginners above Skalnate Lake. Intermediate trail (3300 m, elevation change 730 m) goes down to the intermediate lift station (Start). From this station the next intermediate trail starts (2600 m, elevation change 270 m) leading to Lomnica village. From Lomnica one may get to Lomnicke Sedlo ski center by lifts (2180 m). This vast mountain saddle has difficult tracks for downhill skiing and giant slalom (1500 – 2000 m, slope width – 300 – 500 m, elevation change 870 m). The closest to Lomnica (and close to Smokovce) is Jamy ski center where easy and intermediate trails start, they are lightened for night skiing. There is a toboggan track somewhat lower the Start station. Zdiar mountain village protected as a monument of wooden architecture is located 15 km away from Tatranska Lomnica. Going to Zdiar one can visit Belianska karst cave. There are several good hotels with swimming pools, saunas, cafes, bars, etc. in Lomnica and within 2-3 km of the village center. Grand Hotel Praha built at the beginning of XX century (and modernized several times) attracts by its comfort atmosphere, close to lift location, and the beauty of the view that opens from it.
