Hemsedal

Hemsedal, one of the best Norvegian sport centers, hosted World Cup giant slalom competitions.  The resort is popular among Norwegians, especially due to convenient transport location: route buses go to Oslo several times a day, one may also get to the nearest station of Gol by train (3 h 15 m).

 Main lifts of Fjell-Lansby ski center are located 2 km away from the center of the village. Sportsmen usually settle near in well-equipped cottages and chalets. Sport and leisure center of Stavkro has a covered skating-rink, sports grounds, bowling, discohall. Equipment can be rented. 

From the beginning of December and till the end of March Hemsedal offers “night skiing” (17.30-21.00) several times a week. Among other winter entertainments are dog and horse sled rides, ice climbing.

The excursion to Sogne Fiord bay that deeply penetrated to the mainland shows the tourists the unique nature of the northern country. The trip by Flombahn mountain railroad is also a fascinating event.
