Tukino

The resort is nestled on the eastern slopes of Mt Ruapehu in New Zealand’s North Island. Tukino Ski Field provides the rare combination of adventure and lack of crowds, coupled with the friendliness and camaraderie that’s only found on club-operated fields. This is a club ski field, operated and maintained by club members.

Experience what skiing used to be like, before hectic lifestyles and commercial interests took over!

Tukino provides ski and snowboard lessons, mountain education courses, volunteer ski patrol, a ski development squad, club races and social events, great value ski & accommodation packages for non-members, typically, more stable weather and snow conditions than on the western side of Mt Ruapehu.

The resort offers ski lessons for anyone from novice to advanced skiers and snowboarders. The lessons here were modified to take advantage of the local terrain and cater to the individual or group needs.

Everybody can train at Tukino for NZQA qualifications up to Certificate of Ski Patrol level. In their turn, participants take part in the Tukino Voluntary Ski Patrol.

If you do not want to take your own gear on the vacation, you may rent it here.
