The Remarkables ski resort is located in no more than 15 miles from the town of Queenstown, which is in the southwest of the South Island of New Zealand. It lies at an elevation of 6,348 feet and there are 544 acres of skiing terrain. The resort is considered to be made up of three sunny and sheltered bowls, which are framed by towering peaks, not far away from Queenstown. Two of these bowl areas are lift served. This ski resort is the best choice for beginner and novice skiers, there are many gentle and easy slopes there. As for the snowboarders, they are well catered for here with an excellent board park, which includes a super – pipe and a rail park.
The Remarkables ski resort is a purpose – built skiing area with no accommodation; although, there is a wide variety of hotels, inns, lodges and motels, bed and breakfasts, and apartment style housing available in Queenstown. As for the very resort area, it has a self service café, where one can take a breather and admire the views while having something to eat or drink, the snow shop, snow tubing, ski and snowboarding school, different types of facilities for children, licensed crèche, ski, snowboard and clothing rental, storage, ski and snowboard repairs, terrain park, guest services and first aid services. All ski shuttles run daily on and from Queenstown.
In case if someone is going to arrive to Queenstown from far away, the easiest and the best way to travel there is by air. There is an airport at Queenstown, which is served by domestic flights and some flights from Australia.
