Nested high in the Southern Alps, Mt Hutt Ski Area gets some of the lightest and driest snow in Australasia. It boasts one of the longest ski seasons in the Southern Hemisphere starting usually in early June and ending in late October.

As there was a large investment into lift and trail infrastructure, Mt Hutt’s Summit Six, six seater chairlift provides access to most trails while a dedicated quad chair operates at a beginners’ area. A 140m long Magic Carpet serves the beginners area. Mt. Hutt boasts some of the most excellent amenities in the country alongside the best mix of terrain.

Proximate to Christchurch city and with more than 365 skiable areas, Mt Hutt provides lots of varied facilities for white sports enthusiasts. A big mountain with great terrain, Mt Hutt caters a splendid, winter experience for skiers and riders of all skills.

 Famous for its relaxed and rustic atmosphere, Mt Hutt is family and novice friendly and includes an award winning Snowsports School and a certified Skiwiland Creche. Children of six and under ski here for free.

Mt. Hutt is only over in 1 hour drive from Christchurch and a 35-minute drive from Methven. Ski shuttles provide daily services to and from Methven. Mt Hutt welcomes 7 days from 9:00am to 4:00pm during the whole the season that usually lasts from early June to late October.
