Coronet Peak

Coronet Peak is the South Island’s most popular ski area – and with good reason. Varied terrain, incredible views, proximity to Queenstown and a cosmopolitan ambience create a superb winter experience for every level of snow sport enthusiast.

It is the birthplace of South Island skiing. Coronet Peak is host to many sporting and social events including the FIS rated Southern Cup and the Southern Hemisphere’s ultimate winter celebration, the Lindauer Queenstown Winter Festival. The resort is also the training ground of New Zealand’s National Ski Team.

The resort has 280 skiable hectares accessed by a six seater express chair, an express quad, a double chair, a t-bar, magic carpet and beginner tow. Widespread, state-of-at-art snowmaking ensures a long season while stunning views of lake and mountain add to the casually sophisticated ambience.

You may start your day early with ‘first tracks’ pass holders hitting the slopes at 8am and on Friday and Saturday nights finish late with night skiing until 9pm.

The resort has a FIS specification Fruju half pipe and a dedicated Dirty Dog terrain park and the mountain’s longest run, the M1-Big Easy is 2.4 km long and popular with intermediate and advanced skiers and riders.
