Faraya is the name of the village just below the slopes in Ouyoune El-Simane; though the whole area is nested in Kfardebian village which boasts the best equipped and most trendy resort of Lebanon.
The resort offers 42 slopes and 80 kilometers of ski trails. The skiing season in the country is alike in length to that of the Alps lasting over 4 months. Skiers, snowboarders, snowmobile and cross-country lovers come to the resort from all over the country and world. One may get to the 2465m top of Mzaar and relish the awe-inspiring scenery over the colorful Bekaa valley, Mount Hermon, Laqlouq and the Cedars. On a clear day you may enjoy the view of the shore towns and even Beirut, the capital.
If you wish to enjoy some other activities, you may visit the dramatic 30 meter natural bridge of Kfardebian created by wind and water erosion, and also debris of a Phoenician temple and a Roman tower.
You will require at least 2 days to ski the best resort can offer you and begin to search for new trails. It is reasonable to hire a guide from the ski school, so he or she could show you other not less challenging areas. Less experienced skiers will enjoy the place as well, and beginners will find the place ideal for their skills as the lower slopes are wide and gentle.
Faraya Mzaar resort is divided into 3 areas: Refuge, Jonction and Wardeh. Slopes usually are open from 8:00 AM till 3:30 PM during weekdays and 4:00 PM during weekends and holidays.
