Niseko is nested on the North island of Hokkaido, just in 120km from the capital city Sapporo. Niseko is a modern ski area includes 4 ski areas and covers over 48 km of trails with 38 lifts operating and the longest trail is 5.6 km. The area provides 1,000 vertical meters of perfectly groomed trails, and some of the best off-trail powder skiing in the world. The Hanazono area is famous for its amazing tree skiing.

Niseko gets the impact of the Siberian desert storms that stride across the Sea of Japan from Russia with astonishing regularity from November till March. Traditionally the resort gets lots of snowfalls of 16m per season. These conditions offer for some of the most wonderful powder skiing a snow skier or rider will try anywhere in the world.

The terrain at Niseko boasts wide open trails for cruising, gladed trails, which offer a challenge for the most experts and wide open bowls that drop from the summit of Mt Annapuri. For the skier and rider who do not prefer off-trail, the resort will provide an excitement with a wide range of well-groomed trails and thrilling terrain parks. Niseko takes its pride in the largest night skiing area in the world.

 Niseko has no surface tows, but the chairlifts have protective weather hoods. A 4-person express gondola takes you 500 vertical meters in 10 minutes. During the week, there are no lift queues. Lifts are open daily from 8.30am to 8.30 pm providing superb value.

The sceneries from Niseko are completely awe-inspiring, from the magnificent slopes of close Mt Yotei, all the way to the ocean’s coast. You may climb the peak and experience the real delights of this remarkable area.

The greater Hokkaido region is renowned for its ski areas as well as for its fresh seafood, beer, chocolate, noodles and the Sapporo annual ice festival (held in February). 

The greater Niseko Ski Area is enclosed by small towns, Niseko and Hirafu, the last one offers the greatest variety of lodging and services for international travelers.
