Pila resort is situated 18 km away from Aosta city, and this distance can be overcome just in 18 minutes by a cable car. The capital of Val d’Aosta region is an ancient town famous for its sights and the most attractive for tourists in northern Italy. That is why many skiers try to settle in Aosta’s hotels and not in Pila. Pila, modern sport center, was built on Emilius Mountain (1800 m) after French alpine skiing resorts: lifts here are located in close proximity to hotels, and their forethought system allows getting to any interesting trail in no time. Pila’s infrastructure allows resort guests to feel all the comfort of modern rest: it has enough number of shops, restaurants, bars, pizzerias, underground garages, rent centers, drug stores, post office, and bank departments. Pila is a young resort, and it has substantial advantages. Technical facilities were thought-out to the smallest details. The architecture of hotels blended with the landscape accentuates its beauty. From the high-altitude plateau one can enjoy the view of Monblan, Matterhorn, and Monte Rosa – Pila is located in the very heart of the vast mountain region. Just this view alone is worth of coming to Pila which in addition is considered to be a perfect place for family rest. Experienced skiers will also not be bored in Pila. The most difficult trail is Couis-Tsa Creusia (1900 m, elevation change 550 m), but there are many other difficult slopes in the outskirts. Besides, one can buy the ski-pass for skiing in other regions of the Aosta Valley including the slopes near Courmayeur. Valtournenche with its “spring trails” is located 42 km away from Aosta, Cervinia is located somewhat further. Having settled in Pila and going on one-day excursions you may gradually get familiar with many Italian resorts. Resort Information
