| There are several rental centers for tourist who came here without their own equipment. They can choose among 6000 pairs of skis, snowboards, etc.; repair and equipment preparation services are also proposed. In addition to skiing and ski jumping Harrahov’s guests can also paraglide, play tennis, swim in the pools, train themselves in gyms, use sauna, tanning salon, toboggan, take horse sled rides. If time remains one may get acquainted with the town typical for this part of Czechia. Cozy and beautiful Harrahov was founded in XVII century. It was prosperous long before it became the ski center: deposits of fluorite and galena where discovered here. The region was also famous by its glass-manufacturing plants, the first of which was opened in Ryzoviste, the second one in the village of Nový Svět (now also Harrahov’s area). The methods of glass inflation, faceting, and painting can be studied in detail at the glass-manufacturing plant (with excursion) or in special Glass Museum. The cable way connects Harrahov with Tanwald. One may enjoy beautiful views of the Krkonose and Jizersky Mountains from the car window passing numerous tunnels and viaducts.
