Bozi Dar and Klinovec

The ridge of the Ore Mountains 130 km long forms natural border between Czechia and Germany. Boží Dar located on the mountain plateau together with Klinovec and Neclid form common ski region in the western part of the massif. There are also some other resort villages: Pernink, Nové Hamry, Kraslice, Bublava.  In the eastern part above Usty nad Labem Mikulov- Bouřňák and Český Jiřetín adjoin Zadní Telnice region.

Boží Dar at the elevation of 1028 m is the highest mountain populated point in Czechia. The ski zone stretches from 850 to 1244 m. The highest point is the top of Klinovec Mountain that can be reached by funicular. 

The region has trails of all difficulty levels from 350 to 1150 m long, elevation change is from 30 to 250 m. The town’s surroundings are popular among tourists with children because they have a lot of long and gentle slopes where one can go without an instructor. Rental centers provide children and adults with downhill and cross-country skis, snowboards and snowshoes. There are 70 km of trails for those who is fond of cross country skiing.

In XVI deposits of silver were discovered in this place. Boží Dar received his name because miners found silver lump by miracle. But the Ore Mountains are famous by the other thing: it was local rock of which the Curies managed to educe a new element – radium. From the beginning of XX century mineral waters containing radium began to be used for curing nervous diseases. Yahimov located near is famous for its hydropathic establishments.

The hotels of cozy Boží Dar have swimming pools, saunas, fitness centers, volleyball and tennis courts, balneal complex. Restaurants, bars, and discos are distinguished by high service level and affordable prices. Famous resort of Karlovy Vary is located 27 km away. One may go there on an excursion. The trips to Loket and Kfiivoklát castles are not less interesting.
