Red Mountain Resort, Canada's oldest ski resort, is nested in the West Kootenay region of southeastern British Columbia. It takes only 10 minutes to get there from the north of the Canada/US Border. Red is in 2.5 hours from Spokane International Airport (Washington state) and 3.5 hours from Kelowna International Airport. At Red, guests can opt from 83 trails covering two stellar mountains that offer everything from wide-open groomers to steep, powder-filled bowls. You will find lots to explore at Red, as the resort caters more than 1,585 skiable acres and 880 meters (2,900 feet) of vertical terrain serviced by 6 total lifts. Red boasts some of the best world’s tree skiing and riding in wide-open glades of chaste powder. The plentiful snow, welcoming staff and locals, and the short lift lines are just among several reasons why visitors enjoy Red that much. The resort has a reputation of a tough mountain as there is great quantity and quality of expert terrain. However the Silverlode and Paradise areas provide lots of wide-open groomed trails for beginner and intermediate skiers and snowboarders.
