Marble Mountain Resort is Canada's winter playground. It is located in a snow belt and gets an average annual snowfall of 16 feet. The mountain is part of the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain Range, stretching up from Georgia in the Southern United States. The peak of Marble Mountain is 1,700 feet above the Humber River which cuts a winding path through the majestic Humber Valley to the Bay of Islands.
The resort’s magnificent post and beam lodge was designed to reflect the natural, rugged beauty of the area. 54,000 square-foot lodge is located at the base of the mountain.
The terrain at Marble Mountain is also open to snowboarders, and it as well has a fantastic terrain park and half-pipe. It opens early in the season and is lit on Friday nights so you can ride under the stars.
Governor's Express is the only high-speed detachable quad lift in Atlantic Canada. There are four lifts that will carry you up the slopes and the line ups are usually short, which means you'll spend less time on the lifts and more time on the mountain.
The resort is easily accessible by air via two local airports: Deer Lake Airport, just 20 minutes away, and Stephenville Airport, 45 minutes away. If you drive to Marble Mountain, your trip will include a ride on one of Marine Atlantic's passenger super ferries, departing daily from North Sydney, Nova Scotia. If you prefer a sea journey, it will end at Port aux Basques, a three-hour drive from Corner Brook and Marble Mountain Resort on the Trans Canada Highway.
