Marmot Basin is nestled in gorgeous Jasper National Park, just 19 km south of Jasper, Alberta. Marmot Basin provides more than 1,675 acres of uncrowded alpine area for all level skiers and snowboarders - snow, moguls, trees, alpine bowls and gentle slopes. From a top elevation of 8,534 feet, a vertical descent of 2,944 feet, you can ski 84 named trails. Diverse levels of trails can be reached from most lifts, so skiers of all abilities can still enjoy the day together. Nine chairs, in addition to a high-speed detachable quad and two T-bars guarantee that lift lines take you to the slope quickly even on the busiest days. Canada's biggest Rocky Mountain park is located here, it is Jasper National Park. The view is most stunning in the winter, where elk walk through the lowlands. Other non- ski options include ice fishing, guided backcountry ski tours, ice climbing and skating, snowshoeing, x-country skiing and horse sleigh rides. The town of Jasper is welcoming and small. Lodgings vary from bed and breakfast comfort to first-class luxury. Jasper is only in 360 km from Edmonton, 440 km from Kamloops and 285 km from Banff.
