Located away in the picturesque evergreen forests of the Cypress Hills Provincial Park is a great Ski and Snowboard facility waiting for you to explore.
Cypress residents developed a toboggan hill for all to enjoy. In short time the Cypress Skiers Association installed a rope tow and began skiing down a natural gladed trail. It was the beginning of the Mile High Ski Hill. Later the association relocated to an area with close to 700 vertical ft. and installed a T-Bar with several runs. And Leonard McGee continued to develop and operate the Mile High Ski Hill. Mr. McGee would forever be known as "Mountain Man".
Later the Mile High Ski Hill was renamed into Hidden Valley. In 1987 the government invested in the Cypress Hills Park and Hidden Valley's Future.
Nowadays Hidden Valley is known for its consistent snow conditions, great facilities and friendly people. The skiable area is rather diverse, offering gentle slopes for beginners, cruising terrain for intermediates and more challenging runs for experts. At the snowboard park all levels of experienced snowboarders can try out their skills. The town of Elkwater allows its visitors to escape by sitting next to the fireplace of a Green Tree Cabin or to enjoy the track set cross country ski trails and ice fishing on local lakes.
