Borovetz is one of the most famous and popular in Bulgaria. In addition to adequate ski conditions, resort apres-ski is bright and vivid: restaurants, discos, clubs, casinos, bowling, etc.

Borovetz in the Rila Mountains is one of the most famous and popular Bulgarian resorts. Trails interesting both for experienced skiers and beginners are laid in the ski zone at the elevation from 1324 to 2560 m. International competitions are held on the slopes of Musala Mountain (2925 m).

The total length of trails in four skiing regions (Yastrebetz, Markudjik, Sitniakovo, Martinovi Baraki) is over 40 km. The longest and rather difficult trails start from Yastrebetz’s top (2350 m). From here one can get by lift to Markudjik (2543 m) where trails are the most difficult and snow lies especially long. Markudjik’s slopes attract experienced skiers and those who enjoy taking risks. Giant slalom competitions are held here.  The total length of slopes in Sitniakovo - Martinovi Baraki region is 19 km, here intermediate trails prevail. The resort surroundings have 18 km of cross country trails, ski jumping boards (50 and 75 m). Borovetz ski school is known due to its professional instructors. As a ski resort Borovets has been known over 100 years. Dense coniferous forests and pure mountain air attracted eminent persons, not only Bulgarian ones.

Twenty hotels (from 2 to 5 stars) are able to satisfy the needs of any guest. Borovetz has big hotels that can admit hundreds of people, holiday villages in the outskirts (Yagoda and Malina, cottages), and cozy modest hotels in the town center. Being able to receive up to 10 000 persons the resort is considered to be the most expensive in Bulgaria. But, of course, local prices are much lower that in the Eastern Europe, however, the service level is quite comparable with the European standards. All good hotels offer swimming pool, sauna, fitness center, tanning saloon, massage, there is also a balneal center (pearl baths) in Samokov hotel. Olymp and some other hotels have gym, tennis courts, football field.

The resort guests enjoy après-ski time very much: there are discos and night bars, casinos and bowling centers, coffee houses and confectionaries, English pubs and Greek taverns, restaurants of Chinese, Indian, Mexican cuisine.

Borovetz offers interesting excursions over the country, among which the trip to one of the main Bulgarian sights - Rila monastery founded in X century.
