Flachau is a resort in vast ski region called Salzburg Amade Sports World. It has very diverse skiing opportunities. In 2002 Word Cup finals in Alpine skiing were held here.

“Three valleys” with main centers of Flachau, Wagrain, and St. Johann take up a substantial part of Amade’s territory.  It takes the whole day to pass trails between three villages.  For example, even an experienced skier needs 4 hours to go from Flachau to St. Johann and back without making stops.

Flachau (2500 inhabitants) is located in close proximity to main Tauern highway, that is why it is easy to get from here to lifts leading to Zauhensee (west) and Kleinarl (east) villages. Here skiers will find the whole region where common ski-pass is valid.  The most difficult slopes are World Cup trail (Flachau, 3000m, elevation change 700 m), and that going from Zauhensee to Kelberloch  (6000 m, elevation change 700 m). Unterberg trail (1200 m) is easy and lightened from 18.00 to 22.00. 

There are cross country skiing trails and marked walking paths in the nearest Flachau outskirts. Skating-rinks, swimming pools in hotels, tennis courts, manages – this region has everything you need to go in for various sports.
