Mt Stirling provides cross country skiing for all ability levels and is located a convenient 230km from Melbourne. The XC trails are all well marked with orange markers and of varying difficulty. The Circuit Road is an excellent beginners trail and there are many practice slopes.
All winter amenities are at Telephone Box Junction and include bistro, ski hire, ski patrol and lessons.
In summer recreational walkers may enjoy sub-alpine Alpine Ash forests, from Snow gum woodland to alpine meadows which abound with wildflowers. The sceneries from the summit of Mt Stirling offer a 360 degree panorama of mountain ranges.
