Dinner Plain is the only snowbound village in Australia that is not in a national park. In winter it acts either as a base for skiing at Hotham or as a destination in its own right.
The resort offers, XC skiing, beginner skiing, tobogganing and snow play and trail rides during winter and during summer there are trail rides, fishing, white water rafting, tennis, mountain biking and of course bush walking.
